Our Story

Hutto Community Church started in April 2018 as a satellite campus of Austin Christian Fellowship. In 2016, Pastor Russell Daniel joined the ACF staff as an intern with the intention of planting an ACF campus. God burdened Russell’s heart for the Hutto area as the growth from Austin began flooding that way. He and his wife Brooke soon moved to Hutto and began meeting people in the area and building community. ACF Hutto officially launched on Easter of 2018, meeting at the Hutto Family YMCA.

As time progressed, the vision of ACF began to change with more focus needed at the main campus. As a result, ACF senior pastor Will Davis Jr. and their elders team approached each campus about becoming an independent congregation. As Pastor Russell and the Hutto campus leadership prayed about this, they felt the need to move forward as an autonomous church. In January 2020, ACF Hutto officially became an independent church known as Hutto Community Church.

HCC launched on January 4th, meeting on Saturday evenings at Reclaim Hutto. Shortly thereafter, Covid-19 struck the world and caused HCC to stop all in person meetings. As the next two years progressed, HCC struggled as did many other churches and organizations through the rough waters of Covid. In May 2021, HCC leadership was given an opportunity to find a more permanent home as a space for meeting became available. After many negotiations, renovations, and trials, HCC moved into its new space at 304 E. Austin Ave. on June 5th, 2021.

HCC has grown and flourished in this location as new opportunities to serve people and see lives changed come every week. As the church continues to grow, HCC is prayerfully and strategically considering how to expand the work that God is doing in Hutto.
